PARKHAVEN

Last week I had the chance to walk
through the model home in a newer development in Bothell named Parkhaven. The
builder for the neighborhood is MainVue. The first thing I’d like to discuss is
the location. Parkhaven is only about 10 minutes from the Mill Creek town
center and relatively close to both I-5 (about 20 minutes in traffic) and I-405
(about 15 minutes in traffic). It’s located next to several other neighborhoods
so it’s definitely a family area. The homes are pretty close together and the
backyards aren’t sizeable and can be easily maintained.
Now to
get to the house, it was one of the most expertly planned homes I’ve ever seen.
As a realtor I am really quick to notice useless space…. It adds to the price
of the home in square footage but isn’t really functional, I tend to recommend
against those homes. This home had absolutely no useless space. Every single
inch of this home had a purpose.
When I
walked into the home I noticed the beautiful floors and windows. The living
room, dining room, kitchen, and sitting room are completely open. The large at
least 5 ft windows allow a ton of natural light to flow into the rooms. The
kitchen is spacious with a beautiful island that helps separate it from the
rest of the space, but the pantry is definitely the focal point. There will be
no issues with space in this pantry, it wraps around the kitchen, and actually
has 2 separate entry points.
The
second floor is just as beautiful and the first. It opens up into a lovely
sitting room, big enough for a couch, tv stand, and maybe some bookshelves
(like I said earlier, the use of space is great). The master is huge, once
again covered in over-sized windows. The master bath comes with a large deep
tub and spacious shower. The separate room for the toilet and the walk-in
closet finish up the master.
There
were 2 other bedrooms upstairs, a full bathroom with a shower/bath combination,
and a laundry room. Once again with the windows, you all are probably over the
windows so this will be the last one, the windows in the bathroom and laundry
room were perfectly placed to allow for natural light in rooms that normally
don’t get any. Both windows were about 2 ft across and 6 inches wide and up
high enough that although the glass was not tempered, nothing could be seen.
Another
feature that I thought was incredibly clever was the walk-in closets in both of
the extra bedrooms. It is incredibly handy for our kids to have their own
walk-in closets, for all of the tools, toys, teddy bears, bikes, electronics,
clothes, and shoes that we buy our kids nowadays. It is the perfect amount of
storage to make sure the excuse of “I don’t have anywhere to put it” is obsolete
when our kids explain why their room isn’t clean.
Overall,
this home was gorgeous. Looking back on it there is nothing that I think could
have made it better. And luckily, this builder is currently working on
neighborhoods in Lake Stevens (Daysala) and Monroe (Eaglemont). Look forward to
taking a virtual tour which will be posted this Friday, July 20th.
